CSL Honours Volunteers
April 11, 2011
On the eve of National Volunteer Recognition Week, Côte Saint-Luc City Council held a ceremony during our monthly public meeting to honour volunteers with more than 20 years of service. There were a number of residents from District 2, including former Councillor Harold Greenspon and Senior Men's Club organizer Jack Budovitch, 88. Al Grosser was there, looking sharp at age 91. So was Ricky Steinberg, who was my PeeWee hockey coach some 35 years ago. Ricky looks ever so youthful. Scrabble champ Bernard Gotlieb continues to impress us all. His proud dad, noted plumber Manny Gotlieb accompanied him.
The most inspirational presentation of the evening came when 102 year old Irving Karassik (below) was recognized. Accompanied by his son Fred, Irving came to the podium and proudly accepted his plaque. Irving has been a volunteer with the Senior Men's Club for 20 years. Bravo to all of our volunteers!
Below Harold Greenspon is recognized.
